This Escape Act was performed in Alappuzha at the specific invitation of the Kerala State Government under the auspices of the famous ‘ NEHRU TROPHY BOAT RACE’, an event held every year in the famous Punnamada lake. The magician chained with a 75 feet long and heavy chain and locked with 50 pad locks, hand-cuffed, blind- folded, inside a gunny bag and locked in a chained iron box, was thrown into a huge fire.Surprising the anxious 50 thousand people including VIPs, within 25 seconds the magician appeared among the audience with a smiling face, in a Police Officer’s attire.
Organised by the Cochin Magic Society, claimed to be for the first time in the history of magic, the magician performed this Escape Act at the Cochin Durbar hall ground, to register his protest against communalism. The magician, shackled with a 75 feet long heavy iron chain and 50 strong padlocks and laid in a locked steel coffin, was placed in the grave and covered with earth. A huge haystack was formed over the grave. Black Commandos sprinkled petrol over it and set ablaze, while a Priest, a Poojari and a Mulla were chanting Mantras and Prayers for Samraj’s soul. The magician came out from the thick column of fire unshakled and smiling. About 25,000 strong gathering including high Police Officials and Legislators were witnessing this unique event.
After late Mr. Hari Houdini, the famous Escapist of the USA, who performed this feat, it was only Magician Samraj who performed this illusion at the capital city of Thiruvananthapuram Poojappura Central Jail. In this unique performance, the magician,who was confined in a cell and was locked in a box, appeared in that elegant style and precision, while a shouting Veerappan was found in the box to the surprise of the jail authorities. It was in the same jail premises that the magician, who was jailed in a hard-core criminal cell, hand-cuffed and locked in a box, came out in jail superintendent’s uniform.
The venue of this exclusive performance for the Thiruvananthapuram Press Club was the Tagore Hall. Amidst deafening music and frightening background, Magician Samraj appeared on the stage with a huge train engine behind him. The magician approached the engine, counting one, two, three - crackers exploded - engine disappeared and a giant elephant appeared in its place.

If such an adverse condition is allowed to prevail, no doubt, it will jeopardise the equilibrium of the universe.
